General

As a direct result of the surge of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and its far-reaching consequences on travel, gatherings, and social distancing rules, APDW 2021 has decided to transition the physical event, scheduled for 19 - 22 August 2021, into a virtual conference.
Yes, the Virtual APDW 2021 will be held from 19 - 22 August 2021 with pre-recorded and live-streamed sessions according to the programme schedule. All of the contents will be available to registered and paid delegates for 3 months after the conference.

The Organising Committee’s primary concern is the health and safety of the fellow members, attendees, exhibitors and sponsors, as well as local staff and suppliers. With the approval of APDWF Board of Directors, it has decided to move to a digital experience, ensuring continued education and cutting-edge science to everyone involved in the field of digestive health.
The content will be available on-demand for 3 months after the conference, for all eligible delegates.
To attend the Virtual APDW 2021, you would require a good internet connection, your device or computer, and a valid registration. Login credentials to access the virtual conference will be sent to you a few weeks prior to the conference.

Registration

Yes, you are automatically registered for the Virtual APDW 2021. If you have already made payment, the secretariat will be in contact with you to refund the difference in the amount with your provision proof and payment. 
If you wish to cancel your registration email to secretariat@apdwkl2021.org. The cancellation policy will apply accordingly.

Yes, especially if it is relevant to you and must be at least 18 years old. Paid delegates will have access to all official sessions, industry-sponsored symposia and exhibition.
All individuals must register online on and before 11 August 2021. Last-minute registration is also available from 19 - 22 August 2021.
Please contact your airline, travel agent or insurance directly regarding ticket cancellations – many companies are offering a refund and/or voucher programmes. Virtual APDW 2021 is not liable for any cancellation fees or penalties related to these transactions.

  2. Network with industry professionals.
  3. Earn CME / CPD credits. Participate in the scientific programme and be eligible to receive the number of CME / CPD credits attributed to the virtual conference.
  4. Access all the e-posters. Browse research on the most popular topics published in the abstract site and connect with the abstract authors.
  5. Give feedback. Use the conference surveys to rate the sessions and help us improve the overall quality of the programme
  6. Visit the virtual exhibition hall. Journey through the exhibition booths, explore the displayed materials, and contact exhibitors directly.

Abstract

Abstract submission is opened for all delegates. More information is available via the following link Abstract Guidelines.

You will be notified about the decision of acceptance (or rejection) latest by 5 June 2021.
All abstracts that were submitted will be reviewed as planned unless you wish to withdraw your abstract(s).
You may submit multiple abstracts.
All Awards/Grant applications will be reviewed by the Committee and applicants will be informed via notification letter by 5 June 2021. Please find details of the Awards & Grants HERE.
Supplement: Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Abstract must be original research material that has neither been published nor presented in any international meeting at the time of submission. However, abstracts submitted to, or presented at, local or national meetings may be submitted. All original research should be approved by a relevant research ethical committee.
No, it is not required.
By submitting your abstract, you agree to transfer publishing rights to the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. You may still share your abstract to the channels / networks /publications of your choice, after the conference.
Yes, it is. 
No, case report will NOT be accepted for submission.
Upon acceptance of your abstract, you will be contacted personally with information about submitting your e-poster and/or pre-recorded oral presentations. The details of the presentation will be sent to the corresponding author.
You are not required to make any payment.

No, the slides from the session presentations cannot be downloaded, but you will be able access the recorded sessions after the conference.
The secretariat will be in contact with you directly regarding your participation in the programme.
  1. A formal re-invitation will be sent to your email. 
  2. Upon your acceptance and finalisation of the topic with the scientific committee, you will be receiving another email from the secretariat to provide you the access to the Faculty Portal, which stores your personal information, academic assignments, consent statements, and so on. 
  3. A Speaker Recording Guideline will be sent to you for your kind reference. 
Yes, Q&A is available during most of the sessions, apart from plenary talks.
Yes, the recorded sessions and other materials will be made accessible for 3 months after the conference. The video-on-demand will include all the sessions of the official programme, where speaker permission is granted, and will only be available to paid delegates.

Yes, there will be a virtual exhibition open from 20 - 22 August 2021.
