Esophageal cancer is still a main problem, esp. in Asia-Pacific region. Failed to early diagnosis usually results in poor prognosis. Traditional white-light image is difficult to early detection due to majority of the lesions are flat shape with only minimal surface and color change. Recent advances in technology of IEE, using the specific narrowing bandwidth of light and magnification, dynamic change of micro-vessels and surface structure in neoplastic tissue could be observed clearly. Japan Esophageal Society (JES) published a new simplified classification for IPCL of esophageal squamous neoplasia and demonstrated good correlation with invasion depth of tumor. Further management could be arranged according to JES classification. In my presentation, the new simplified JES classification for esophageal squamous neoplasia will be introduced. Case demonstrations will also be shown.
