Professor Dato’ Dr Razman Jarmin, 52, graduated with the Medical Doctor (MD) in 1994 and completed his post graduate training in general surgery at 2001 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He obtained a fellowship in hepatobiliary and transplantation surgery from University of Melbourne in 2006. His expertise includes Hepato-Pancreatic Biliary Surgery, advanced endoscopic procedure and laparoscopic surgery. He has published more than 100 articles in journals, proceedings at national and international levels. He has also been invited as a speaker for national and international scientific conferences. He has been an external examiners for professional examination for final year medical degree programmes from various universities and has been apppointed as an external examiner for post graduate examination in the field of General surgery. He has served as the committee member for National Conjoint Board for General Surgery Programme, technical advisor for National Curriculum Revision Committee for General Surgery, External Advisor for Medical Degree programme of Simad University of Somalia, founding member of Malaysia Hepatobiliary Soceity and Malaysia Trauma Surgery Society, Fellow of Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and Honorary Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh. He held various administrative posts including as the head of Hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery unit and the head of department of surgery at UKM medical Centre since 2008, Coordinator for HCTM Surgical Service (2016), Deputy Director of Advanced Surgical Skill Centre (2015) and Deputy Director (Surgical Services)(2018). Presently he is being appointed as the Hospital Director, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Mukhriz in January 2021.
