Damien Tan Meng-Yew
Dr Damien Tan obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1999 and was accepted as a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2006. He achieved his specialist accreditation in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2009. He was awarded the SGH fellowship award and Singhealth manpower development award in 2009 and he completed his advanced GI fellowship program (EUS) in Hospital Erasmus, Brussels, Belgium in 2010 and advanced GI fellowship program (ERCP) in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, USA in 2011. He is involved in pancreatic cancer research and was awarded the National Medical Research Council Transition Award for clinician scientists in 2014. He has completed his Master’s in Clinical Investigation in 2016. He has interest in medical innovation and has completed the Singapore Stanford Biodesign Innovation course in 2017 and Singapore Biodesign Faulty fellowship in 2021. He is currently Director of Endoscopy Centre, Senior Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Singapore General Hospital and Assistant Professor at Duke NUS medical school. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of pancreato-biliary disorders and therapeutic endoscopy such as ERCP and EUS. His main research is the area of pancreatic cancer, pancreatic cysts, pancreatic diseases and pancreatobiliary endoscopy.
