Associate Professor Yoong Boon Koon obtained his BSc(med) and MBBS degree in University of New South Wales (Aust) in 1996 and and his Master of Surgery in University of Malaya in 2006. After completion of his Clinical Associate Fellowship in Hepatopancreaticobiliary(HPB) Surgery and Liver Transplantation at Queen Mary Hospital in 2009, he re-found the Hepatobiliary Unit of University Malaya Medical Center in 2010 and started the Living Donor Liver Transplantation program in 2017 in the same center. He is currently the Head of General Surgery Division, Chair of Liver Transplantation Unit, Chair of Organ Transplantation Committee of University Malaya Medical Center.
