Dr.Varocha Mahachai is a Past-President of the Gastroenterological Association of Thailand.Currently, she is an advisor to Bangkok GI and Liver Center and a GI Director at Sukhumvit Hospital in Bangkok and an academic advisor to the Dean of CICM, Thammasat University. She now serves as committee members in various International Societies: Council member (Co-opt), Chairman Award Committee, Asian-Pacific Gastroenterological Association (APAGE).She is a member of Publication Committee of World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO).Dr. Mahachai serves on the editorial board of Helicobacter and JNM. In addition, she is a corresponding fellow in Asia for the European Helicobacter Study Group and a member of a Healthy Stomach Initiative group. Dr. Mahachai also serves as member for Scientific Committee of WGO and APDW. She is also a Director of National Gastric Cancer and Helicobacter Pylori Research Center in Thailand. Her major interests include all areas of digestive systems in GI, Hepatology, Endoscopy with special interests in Helicobacter pylori, Hepatitis B&C,HCC,GERD,Esophageal cancer, Colon cancer, IBD and microbiota research.
