Byong Duk Ye
Dr. Byong Duk Ye is a Professor of Gastroenterology and of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. His research focus is on the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, treatment and outcomes of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) as well as in integrating clinical factors, biomarkers, and genetic markers to predict outcomes and response to therapies in IBD. He is working as the Director of the Scientific Committee of Korean Association for the Study of Intestinal Diseases and a member of the epidemiologic committee of Asian Organization for Crohn’s and Colitis. Dr. Ye earned his medical degree from Seoul National University College of Medicine in Korea, and earned his PhD degree at the Graduate School of Medicine, Seoul National University. He completed an internship, residency, and a clinical and research fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Seoul National University Hospital. Dr. Ye was a visiting scientist to the Cedars-Sinai F. Widjaja Foundation Inflammatory Bowel and Immunobiology Research Institute from 2014 to 2016. Dr. Ye has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles including in Lancet, Nature Genetics, Gut, and Gastroenterology and is a reviewer of several scientific journals.
