Professor Daiming Fan is the member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, international member of the USA and French National Academy of Medicine, president of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, president of Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology, council member of World Gastroenterology Organization, board of directors of the Union for International Cancer Control, past vice president of Chinese Academy of Engineering, past president of Fourth Military Medical University, past president of Chinese Society of Gastroenterology, and director of Xijing Hospital of Digestive Diseases and State Key Laboratory of Cancer Biology. As the congress president, he successfully organized the GASTRO2013 (WCOG/APDW) in Shanghai. He has a long-standing interest in both clinical and basic research of digestive diseases, and has been committed to the theoretical research and clinical practice of Holistic Integrative Medicine. He has obtained a lot of national grants, including National Hi-tech Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) and Key Program of National Natural Science Fund, etc. He has won the first, second and third-class prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Awards respectively, and a third-class prize of National Technology Invention Awards. He was the first awardee of the Prize “French National Academy of Medicine-Servier”, and received the 2019 Masters of the WGO Award. As an editor-in-chief he has authored 31 books on gastroenterology and oncology. He has published more than seven hundred peer review articles on the international journals, such as Nat Med, Nat Rev Gastroenterol Hepatol, Nat Rev Dis Primer, Nat Clin Pract Oncol, Lancet, Lancet Gastroenterol & Hepatol, Gut, etc. He has become the editor or associate editor for 13 international medical journals.
