Dr. Takao Itoi is presently Professor and Chair of Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Tokyo Medical University at Tokyo, Japan. In addition, he is also visiting-professor at the Keio University and Tokyo Medical Dental University. He graduated from Tokyo Medical University in 1991 and had worked in Tokyo Medical University Hospital as a gastroenterologist. His major is diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy in particular in pancreatobiliary diseases by means of EUS and ERCP including balloon enteroscopy-assisted ERCP. Until now, he has outstanding endoscopic skill and has published more than 500 peer-reviewed papers in high impact factor journals on the novel and special techniques and outcome.
