W. Ray Kim, MD is Professor and Chief in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Kim earned his medical diploma at Seoul National University. He started his academic career in 1998 at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, where he received his GI and hepatology training also.
Dr. Kim’s research interest has been in outcomes modeling in end stage liver disease and viral hepatitis. His research accomplishments include development of the Model for End Stage Liver Disease (MELD) score. His most recent h-index is 82.
Dr. Kim serves on the Governing Board of AASLD as a Councilor currently and is elected to be President in 2024.
