Dr. Isayama is professor in the Department of Gastroenterology, Graduate School of Medicine, Juntendo University. He has published more than 437 peer-reviewed English articles (>2117.16 IF). He has special interest in therapeutic ERCP and interventional EUS, and has many experience of live-demonstration. He is the pioneer of biliary covered self-expandable metallic stent (SEMS). He is also specialized in the chemotherapy for the pancreato-biliary malignancies. He is the committee member of clinical guidelines of both pancreas cancer and cholangiocarcinoma. He is chief of making GL of EUS-BD and Primary sclerosing cholangitis. He is a president of T-CAP (Tokyo Conference of Asian Pancreato-biliary Interventional Endoscopy), is international workshop and annually held in Tokyo.
