Arthur J Kaffes
Associate Professor Arthur J Kaffes is a Gastroenterologist and therapeutic endoscopist at the Prince of Wales Royal and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals in Sydney and is a clinical associate professor at the university of Sydney clinical school. A/Prof Kaffes is chairman for the Australian Endoscopy Association of Australia. A/Prof Kaffes has a keen interest in pancreatico-biliary endoscopy including support for tertiary referral upper GI surgical services and liver transplant service. This has led to some new techniques and devices including a novel metallic stent in liver transplant patients (Kaffes stent). A/Prof Kaffes has the largest experience in Australia in patient with surgically altered anatomy who need ERCP. A/Prof Kaffes has published many studies in the area of pancreatic endoscopy and is involved in multiple studies both nationally and internationally with an interest in developing improved techniques in both ERCP and EUS. A/Prof Kaffes also has a keen interest in small bowel endoscopy and complex colonoscopy. He has published many papers in this area and continues to provide a tertiary referral service in these areas.
