Welcome Message from the President of Asian Pacific Digestive Week 2021
The consequences of the COVID-19 global pandemic have been felt strongly throughout the world and the organisation of medical events has been affected tremendously. The Organising Committee is very concerned about its enormous impact on all aspects of our life. After countless discussions and with the blessing of APDWF Board of Directors, APDW shall now be held on 19 to 22 August 2021 at the same venue, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia.
The Local Organising Committee is working hard to ensure that the APDW 2021, ‘Vision of Excellence in Digestive Disorders & Sciences’ in Kuala Lumpur, continues to strive for success. The theme recognises the rapid advances in digestive disease management; the link between fundamental and translational research. Enriched by contributions from international speakers, we will have excellent and comprehensive scientific presentations in important aspects of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and gastrointestinal surgery.
Hot topics in postgraduate course, pre-congress hands-on workshops, live endoscopy demonstrations, career advancement symposia, scientific lectures showcasing the latest innovations along with many distinguished lectures are also available in this Congress.
We are sure that the learning opportunity provided by the Congress will benefit our clinical practice tremendously.

On behalf of the Asian-Pacific Society of Digestive Endoscopy (A-PSDE), it is my great pleasure to welcome all of you to the Asian Pacific Digestive Week (APDW) 2021 in Kuala Lumpur on 19 - 22 August.
Every year, APDW has been doing a great success in providing a valuable opportunity for numerous leader experts in the gastrointestinal field from the Asian-Pacific region to gather and share the latest information and technologies among ourselves.
This year, the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology will be the Organising Committee holding the congress in the passionate Kuala Lumpur. With the uncertainties of the COVID-19 situation, the Organising Committee kindly proposed the rescheduling of the APDW 2020, which shows their great concern on the safety of our participants and the community. With the social distancing practices around the world, it is doubtless to say everyone will be craving to join APDW2021, which will be another remarkable gastrointestinal event of the year.
A-PSDE will continue to give our greatest support to the congress and we look forward to seeing you in Kuala Lumpur in 2021!
